(quick summary about the character)
Personality[]
Ambrosia is a praying mantis. Seen, but not seen. Unnoticed until she strikes, and its too late.
She has this almost... ability to go unnoticed. From the time she was a child, she was raised to not draw attention to herself. It was the family way, after all. Be seen, but never noticed. Be heard but never remembered. She's carried on this legacy her entire life. She's made few friends during her life. Instead she's simply that shy, woman of few words and small smiles that you can never remember the name of....
Ambrosia is, for lack of a better explanation, a 'mad scientist'. She is a highly logical, and experimental person. She is constantly creating and testing new experiments. In particular, potions and alchemy are two of her main fortes. Due to her many travels, she's learned a great deal about the two subjects and their regional variants.
Ruthless and cruel, Ambrosia is a sadist woman who will use any unsuspecting victim in testing her experiments. She has absolutely no morals or ethics when it comes to human experiments and has no mercy or regard for human life.
Due to her constant experimentations, Ambrosia is highly curious, almost to a terrifying degree. Her curiosity is never sated, and is absolutely relentless. She won't use interest in something until she's learned what she can. On the other end of the spectrum though, once she has her answers, rarely will her interest stay. She will move onto her next project without any hesitation. This restless curiosity makes her incredibly dangerous.
Ironically, Ambrosia is a devoutly loyal person to anyone that gains her respect. She will never betray her true allies. But, be careful, because your definition of true allies may not be the same as hers. In particular, Ambrosia pledges full allegiance to Elaine and her cause, and would never betray Elaine. But the same can not be said for her fellow Purifiers.
When Ambrosia was 10, she made an unbreakable vow to never develop feelings or attachments for someone that isn't a Pureblood. So calling her a blood supremacist isn't a bit of an understatement. She is very quiet about her views on the subject, though when she gets restless she'll primarily target non purebloods.
Even without this unbreakable vow, Ambrosia does not see people as 'people'. She truly believes herself to be better than everyone. Instead, life is just a big game of chess for her, and people are just tools to be used.
Ambrosia is very good at pretending to be something she isn't though, much like the praying mantis. She camouflages herself as something that fits in to hide her re

History[]
To truly understand Ambrosia, and how she became the person she is you must first know about her family...
The Montague family. A less known pureblood Wizarding family. During the first wizarding war they were strong supports of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, and they were trying to teach their daughter, Josephina, the same ideology even though she was still only a student at Hogwarts. As the war came to an end the Montague family feared they would be turned in to the Aurors like many of their fellow supporters. Rather then be caught, they fled to China. Josephina would never see her home again. An associate of Josephina's father, who had been a silent supporter of Lord Voldemort, though played no part in the war, let the family take shelter in his family's estate in a remote Chinese village. It was off the grid, and there was little chance of the family being found there.
The Hong family. A Chinese family of purebloods that can trace their genealogy back hundreds of years. This pureblood family had close ties to many of the major events that shaped China's history. They'd been seers, soothsayers, court magicians, and advisers to many Emperors. Their presence wasn't a sign of prosperity though. It led to chaos and war. You see, this family has a... special talent. They are unusually gifted when it comes to navigating and manipulating the mind. They'd twist the minds of those around them to do their bidding... (hence why their presence usually ended in bloodshed...) This blood supremacist family has always felt all non magical beings as beneath them, and are simply tools to be used. Tradition is very important to this family, but carrying on that tradition even more so.
The head of the family at the time was Junjie Hong. While successful in his career, he had yet to marry and produce an heir. His mother saw the Montague's arrival as a sign that it was finally time to change that. The Montague family laid low over the next few years, homeschooling Josephina rather then sending her to another wizarding school. Junjie's mother oversaw most of her 'schooling'... In more ways then expected.
Little by little, the old Hong woman twisted Josephina's mind. Altering her memories, manipulating her feelings... Grooming a suitable bride for her son. Her parents were unaware of the... well, brainwashing. And Junjie? He was uninterested. He'd never had any desire for a family before now, and that didn't change. But, at the same time, respecting and obeying your elders is a very strong part of his culture. So, when his mother announced that she would approve a union between them, he was unable to refuse. Josephina's parents on the other hand were far less pleased. Junjie was as old as Josephina's own father! Determined to put a halt to this union, the Montague family decided it was time to leave. Josephina got wind of this plan before her parents were able to take her away, and told Junjie's mother. Who, in turn, put both adults under a very powerful Imperius curse. With their (unwilling) consent, she skillfully, and quickly, organized a wedding between her only son and Josephina Montague. Within the first month of their 'marriage' Josephina was pregnant.
Eight months later, Josephina went into labor prematurely. There were serious complications, and living off the grid made it impossible to bring in a trained healer. And so, as the baby girl opened her little eyes for the first time, her mother closed hers for the last time. Her last words were the name for her only child. Ambrosia Ai Hong. Fearing Josephina's (imperiused) parents would try to take the child when their senses finally returned, Ambrosia's grandmother obliviated all memories of their daughter, granddaughter, and the Hong family. Exactly what happened to the couple afterwards is a secret that was never passed on to Ambrosia...
Ambrosia was never told much about her mother, or her mother's side of the family except that they were purebloods, and that she died in childbirth. Instead, she grew up hearing stories of her (Hong) ancestors from her grandmother. She spent hours using the heirloom pensieve, scouring through hundreds of memories her family had collected. She was taught how to be a proper lady, but also the rightful heir to the prestigious family. Despite all the time she spent with her grandmother, she was always a daddy's girl. She loved to watch him work, and would often copy him. She wanted nothing more then to be just like him. Junjie had initially been uninterested in a family, but was quite proud of his only child. She was the perfect heir. From her natural talent in in the 'family business', her quiet but observant demeanor, to her thirst for more. She had what it took to ensure the Hong family's future.
When she turned ten, it was finally time for her to become an 'adult' in her family's eyes. There is an old family tradition. On the tenth birthday all members of the Hong family would enter into an unbreakable vow. To ensure the family's future, and prevent any unpure blood, each member of the family swears to never develop an emotional attachment to a non pureblood witch or wizard. Ambrosia made this vow willingly. And the next year, she started school.
Ambrosia attended a magical school in China. Many expected the Hong family Princess to leave her mark during her schooling, but she was practically invisible. This well brought up, respectful girl just blended into the crowd, invisible. She made no friends. She was always there though, watching, learning...
A week before graduation though, Ambrosia received news that would change her life. Her father had passed away. For the first time in her life, Ambrosia felt true loss and sorrow. And, suddenly, she was the head of the Hong family. Immediately after graduation, Ambrosia returned to her grandmother for the next few years, finishing her 'training' under her grandmother's guidance. Finally though, time caught up with her grandmother and she went to join her son. Ambrosia was now the last of the main family. Though she did have other Hong relatives her grandmother's death made he the head of the family.
The next 8 years, Ambrosia traveled and studied. While she hated muggles, they had something she wanted. Knowledge. Those eight years were spent studying the regional variants of potions and alchemy, and also the muggle and magical medical arts. Everything she could learn, she absorbed it all.
For a time she settled in England, and during her time there discovered a half sister, a half American produced during one of her father's business trips. IT was also during that time that Ambrosia discovered Elaine Dupree and she pledged her allegiance to the young woman. Despite Elaine's youth, Ambrosia saw the ability to lead, and an ideology she could stand behind. But her half sister was not versed in the Hong family traditions. So, with the promise to return, Ambrosia left England with her half sister, returning to her home in China.
During her time in China Ambrosia had to not only verse her half sister in their family traditions but also teach the younger witch the basics of magic. Due to Bethany's upbringing, the younger woman's opportunity to learn magic was hindered by her maternal family, something that Ambrosia has developed a deep, deep hatred for. This hatred has been festering for some time, growing, deepening. Ambrosia wants revenge. She wants to destroy the family that caused such distress to her half sister. And one day, she will get her revenge. Once she finds them. Also during her time in China Ambrosia has done several 'long distance' jobs for Elaine. Working on experiments and sending them off to England, training Purifiers that are sent to China. Gathering foreign information and also making new connections.
Now Ambrosia and Bethany are returning to England. It's time for them to get into the war. And for Ambrosia to seek revenge on Bethany's maternal family.
