–person to someone

Ethan Johnson was a 7th year muggleborn student. He was meant to be Elaine's third victim, but he survived the initial attack. Unfortunately, he was killed during the mercenary attack on April fools.

Personality

Ethan was the intellectual among his friends. He was reasonable and smart, and always tried to keep his crazy friends in check -- though he often got dragged along with them because he didn't like saying now. He was known to do whatever his friends asked of him as long as it didn't land him with expulsion. Even though he tried to sway them from getting into trouble, he was still a teenage boy at heart and had a lot of fun goofing off with them, even while scolding them. He would have done anything for his friends, and did.

He was someone you could trust, he didn't gossip or ignore people who needed someone to listen. He does have trouble focusing at times, or rather finishing a project straight through. He would start on one, pause, and start another one until he had several half finished things going on.

He was rather awkward when it came to social interaction. He was often dragged into social situations by friends, and learned to find the fun in it. It did take a lot of encouraging to get him to go out in the first place, though.  Why? Because he didn't know how to talk to people-at least not small talk. Give him a good debate or discussion and he could talk for hours, mention the weather? He's at a loss for words. That’s why he liked his friends, they didn't make him say much but when he did they would listen because they knew it was important.

However, although he was not biggest fan of crowds, he had a deep love for Quidditch! After his first year when the game was introduced into his life, his parents bought him a broomstick (with some of my friends parents help) and tried to let him practice as much as possible by taking him on camping trips during the summer where no one would see him. He instantly fell in love. Quidditch is the one place where he didn't feel shy in a crowd. He joined his fourth year, and was captain his seventh.

History

Arita Fan O’Donald had grown up in Ireland but had moved around the country several times with her parents, they girl didn’t seem too much at home anywhere, causing her to be somewhat of a rebel to her parents. She was lonely and troubled as she grew up and ended up partying a lot, especially on the weekends at old clubs in Dublin. At seventeen she was doing her usual dancing with her friends in and old abandoned building at the edge of town when a strange, yet handsome British boy began to flirt with her, the two became friends very quickly after that. Long story short the two became pen pals for the next several months until, finally, they graduated high school and Arita moved to England to live with her British pen-pal.

This boy was Zachary Luke Johnson. As the two had written for several months and decided to live together as they grew close as friends, before they were even romantically involved they were simply just roommates. As time went on though the sexual tension began to be too much and they ended up sharing a bed one night (cough cough). As any best friends would when realizing their actions the two acted awkward for a long time. This night led to Arita giving birth to her first child, Ethan, at the age of eighteen. During her pregnancy Zachary decided it was best to try and pursue and actual relationship, since they obviously like each other anyway. About three months before Ethan was born the two had moved into a bigger place in Surrey, so they could raise a family there. They still to this day haven’t had an official marriage.

The story of his parents teenage meeting never really bothered Ethan, because it was what he had always known. It didn’t seem abnormal until he started hearing stories about his friend’s parents, in which case he decided he still didn’t care that his parents weren’t married. Four years after Ethans birth a younger sister was born, Annie, and the two were inseparable throughout their childhood. As Ethan grew up strange things began to happen around the house and on his eighth birthday he actually caused his sister to fly high above his head and into the sky. She had been trying to reach a balloon that she accidently let go of and Ethan just willed her to be able to reach it. You can imagine the muggle parents shock when they found their daughter flying up above their heads.

After several more crazy occurrences happened his father finally started to investigate the possibility of his son having some sort of mind power. It wasn’t until Ethans eleventh birthday and the letter arrived that everything made sense. Lucky for Ethan, his parents were more relieved than anything. Relieved to know what all the strange occurrences meant and they sent him off to school fully ready and packed, finding themselves proud to have such a son. His sisters eleventh birthday however, came and went without a letter. This didn't damage their relationship however, but brought them closer as he can come home and tell her all the amazing things he has learned.

Ethan fell in love with Quidditch his first year, and practice over the summer (as mentioned in the personality section). When he came back second year he was practicing outside and that is where he met his two best friends. They him in as a friend and helped him to hone is Quidditch skills. They grew closer, and his friends basically forced him to get out and have fun. Over the years he has been nothing less than grateful for them, even though they do get themselves in trouble. Even though his friends are trouble makers Ethan was able to keep top marks and was asked to be a prefect in his fifth year and has been one since, though he has received no mercy from mocking by his best friends.

Come sixth year he was faced with the choice whether to put himself in the running for Head Boy, or become the Ravenclaw Quidditch team captain. He struggled with the idea for months until he finally approached his head of house and past captain to ask about being the next captain. The decision was difficult for him to make, but he decided it was best to stay a prefect but captain the Quidditch team, in order to keep both dreams alive. It is sometimes hard for him to balance his prefect and Quidditch duties. He eventually decided to play Quidditch first and consider being a professor once his career as a player came to and end.

He was horrified when the first student died on the train at the start of seventh year, especially since it was an unsuspecting muggleborn. Then, as the year went on, things just got worse for him. A member of his quidditch team, Andrew, was also killed -- allegedly by the same killer of the student on the train. The school broke into chaos. Everyone blamed Natalia Lestrange, and soon her and her sister were taken home for a short time because of the way they were treated.

A group started to form, Phoenix Rising, and Ethan wanted to be a part of it. To help them find out who the real culprits were. But, before they even had a first meeting, Ethan was attacked. He was doing his prefect rounds, and was separated from the other when Elaine Dupree found him. They dueled on the staircase of one of the towers, but she was basically just toying with him. Then, instead of killing him, she and her friend Desirae forced him to take the unbreakable vow. That they'd let him live as long as he didn't tell who hurt him. He took it.

He went to the hospital wing, and the Professors quickly realized what had happened. He couldn't say who, or he would die because of the vow. So, he was forced not to help. He still went to the Phoenix Rising meeting, in a wheelchair, but couldn't do anything. He was basically worthless, and he hated it.

Then... death.

It was April first and Ethan was in hiding. Phoenix Rising had the idea to hide him in the room of requirement the night before and profess that he had gone into the Headmasters office and never came out. Basically, they were trying to scare Elaine into thinking Ethan had given up his life to break the vow and tell everyone who had hurt him. But, when the April Fools Day attack started, Ethan left the RoR to find his friends. There, Elaine found him and killed him in front of them.
