Unsavory individuals, unfortunately, will only find business in unsavory dealings. There’s little choice or escape with my bloodline.

–Rose to Damian Karkaroff

Rozalina, or Rose as she prefers, is a pureblood witch in her mid twenties. She's a exceptionally skilled healer. Due to her family's unfavorable influence she prefers to work in the back alleys and black market, offering her services to anyone that needs a patch job that can't afford the attention going to the hospital would bring.

Personality[]

Rose is.... broken. She's a girl who's experienced the death of all of her full siblings (and accidentally played the part in one of them). She's someone that has come to believe she has no more love to spare. She's insanely selfish, and would leave you behind for dead if saving you could potentially hurt her. That doesn't mean she's self absorbed though. She's just simply lost so many before now that she can't bring herself to care for others. She refuses to ever be betrayed again, and she can't be betrayed if she doesn't care for others.

Rose comes across as very cold but also angry. Almost like a raging snow storm. She does and says what she wants with little fear of how others will react, and won't hesitate to lash out at you if you last out at her. She isn't one for flattering words or actions, and can be very quick to insult if she feels necessary. Though it's not that she's intentionally trying to hurt you. It's more that she is simply brutally honest and feels no desire to protect another person's feelings.

Rose is someone that will do whatever is necessary for her goals. She will become whatever is necessary. She will give up and destroy her own humanity. She will become a monster if that's what's necessary. Does she feel remorse though? Yes. Intensely. She is acutely aware at the destructiveness of her own actions. But if she believes it's necessary she won't hesitate. She'd condemn her own soul to burn in hell if she had to.

Though, that does mean that deep down inside? Rose is a pitiful and sorrowful creature. She is deeply disgusted by herself. She hates herself with every fiber of her being, and yet she keeps on living. Because her hatred for her own family is even stronger then her hatred of herself. If you could read her emotions though you'd find a girl that only really has two emotions. Sorrow, and anger.

History[]

Rose is not from a normal family. In fact, her family is quite terrifying, to strangers and members of the family. You see, Rose was the 4th born child of Antonina, one of the women Melekhov was sleeping with.

Rose's life was one thrown into turmoil from a young age. You see, the Nightshades were not a family for the weakhearted. Those that couldn't protect themselves were killed off quickly, such as Yulinka, Rose's eldest sister. Yulinka was killed by one of the other family members only a year after Rose's birth. And so, Rose learned very quickly how to play the horrifying game of survival.

While growing up Rose was not one of the strongest of the Nightshade children, she proved to be more brain then brawns, and quite cunning. From a young age she learned how to manipulate and trick those around her. She heard a rumor that one of her half siblings was going to come after her? She started to plant rumors that another family member was going after the one targeting her to redirect their attention. She became silent and ruthless and using her mind to turn her family on each other instead of her. But she always resented it. While her siblings and cousins seemed to forget their own humanity and conscience, Rose never forgot her own. She simply accepted that to survive among monsters you had to be one yourself, and she hated it. And yet? That hatred never stopped her. Never made her hesitate. Because her will to survive was always stronger then her sympathy.

Rose's studious years were spent holed up in the family library, absorbing as much information as physically possible. In particular she was fascinated by the hard and meticulous arts healing and potions. While she was often mocked by her family for her fascination with healing, she was able to prove it's usefulness by showing a sibling or two a few techniques that could be used to cause excruciating pain without killing the victim. It seemed healing wasn't always about making the other person feel better. It was knowing the limits of the body before it broke.

When she was a teenager, Rose's other sister, Alena, fell victim to another family member, and then only a few short years later Rose's eldest brother, Levin, was killed as well. While Rose wouldn't say she was close to her full siblings, she'd always much preferred them over her half siblings and cousins. None of the full siblings had ever gone after each other, and often assisted each other in their schemes. The two deaths meant the end of two of Rose's greatest allies.

Rose decided after their deaths that she didn't care. Her disgust in herself, and her family had reached the breaking point. All she cared about now was making all of them pay. Her silent scheming changed from self preservation to total havoc. She chose to pit her family members against one another for no reason other then to cause as much pain as possible.

Unfortunately, those schemes did end up hurting a lot of people, including her sole surviving full sibling, Aleksandr. He'd gotten caught in the cross hairs and was killed by one of their other family members in 2024. That didn't stop Rose though, instead it only seemed to motivate her more to just hurt as many of the Nightshades as possible. Aleksandr's death was only heightened by the greatest betrayal of her life. You see, Rose had been seeing a young man for a few years. His family had worked with the Nightshades and they'd began dating when she was 16. Despite all the horrors of her family she'd felt that she could love and trust him. She thought she would marry him. Until she discovered that he'd been working for one of her relatives and had been the one to personally kill Alekandr. Something in Rose broke that day and to this day she can't recall the hours that followed. All she knows is that she killed him. It wouldn't bring Aleksandr back, but it hadn't stopped her from finally dirtying her own hands.

Since that day Rose has been closed off and cold, as if her heart is frozen.
