I'll be the envy of all the parties, not that I'm not already.

–Sapphire-Rose to Bhelliom Arnarson

(quick summary about the character)

Personality[]

Sapphire-Rose takes after her brother in many ways. She has a "lover, not a fighter" personality. With much emphasis on the "lover". She's obsessed with beautiful things, objects and people. Though her obsession is very superficial and shallow. She focuses on what she can see. On the surface. Rarely does she actually consider, or is interested in what's "inside".

This, of course, has given her very poor taste in dating. She focuses so much on outward appearances that she doesn't consider people's personalities. This flaw in her personality is how she ended up in an abusive relationship previously, because she couldn't see the red flags before it was too late. Though, it also doesn't help that she's never really had a "healthy" dating experience, so she doesn't actually know what they are like. In many ways she's a fantasizer. She wants that "fairytale" ending. Prince Charming, a perfect love story, a happy ending.

Sapphire-Rose can turn on the charm, when she wants. Be very sweet, kind, caring. Again though. When she wants something. When there's an end goal in mind, and something for her. Whether it's seducing others, or trying to smooze a business deal of some kind.

If she doesn't want to be on your good side, however, Sapphire-Rose can come across as a bit harsh, critical, and sometimes even cruel. She only plays people if there's some benefit. So she doesn't bother outside those benefits.

Sapphire-Rose is very artistically inclined (obviously). She and her brother make quite the artistic duo. Their obsession with beauty lead them to the arts, and those have been her entire life since. She'd not book smart, or really cares to be. Unless it's art related. Then she is an expert. It's all she cares about. Though, again, not books. She works with her hands, creating beautiful works of art. She's quite the perfectionist about it. Things have to turn out the way she wants them.

Since her... break up, Sapphire-Rose has been pretty closed off in the romantic department. Abusive relationships tend to do that to people. Though, she's still very open with her brother. Always will. He was her rock during that dark time and helped her get away. Though, the experience did teach her that beauty and perfection are not the same thing, and she'd started to embrace imperfections in her art and even people (when she gets to dating people again...

History[]

Sapphire-Rose's life really began when her brother was born. You see, Bhelliom and Sapphire-Rose are very close in age.  Irish twins. Born within a year of each other. They are around 11 months apart. Bhelliom and Sapphire-Rose  are the offspring of their Veela father, and teh charming witch that captured his heart.

While many children may resent being so close in age to a sibling, these children didn't. They've always been very close. Though Bhelliom set the tone of their upbringing. Through a chance encounter when he was younger be became obsessed with beauty, and she followed suit. When they were little it was a friendly sibling competition, to see how who could find the most beautiful flower, or shell, or rock. Though, their father taught them that they shouldn't destroy beauty in their quest to find it. So, the children started to explore the arts.

They tried their hands at a number of arts and crafts, each of them doing quite well in any they tried but quickly finding their own niches. Sapphire-Rose, while loving all the arts, loved pottery and eventually glassblowing the most. Despite her age, she devoted so many hours to her crafts that she was creating work far beyond her years. Her brother was the same.

Eventually, they were old enough to go to school. Their parents decided to send them to Durmstrang. Despite being 11 months apart, their birthdays made them fall within the same school year. But it didn't bother them. Bhelliom had always been her best friend, and would continue to be so, no matter what.

Their years at school were... rocky. They had quite a few ups and downs. They became fiercely competitive with each other. At first the pair had many friends. They were good at charming others. The Veela blood helped quite a bit, of course. As they got older, their competitiveness also transferred to their relationships with people. Who could charm the most people. They also reached the age where their interest in... other activities grew. And that also became a competition for them. Romantic partners. They both became quite good at being honey traps. Lure them in with sweet words, use them, then turn cold and distant after.

Eventually they graduated. Deciding that Iceland didn't have opportunities for them in terms of their crafts, the siblings moved to the UK. Seeking work and professional training.  And in Sapphire-Rose's case? Love. See, she'd always had this idea that she'd find the perfect man one day, like her mother found her father, and everything would be happily ever after. Despite her.. extensive romantic partner history. That was when she met Xavier. He was handsome. Absurdly so. Quite few years older then her (he was 28 when she met him at 20). Smooth talking. Very experienced. Sapphire-Rose was usually the one to steal their heart, but she'd never met someone like him. Someone... well... Similar. But far more experienced. She should have been prepared to meet others like her and her brother in the adult world. But she wasn't. And she fell head over heels.

Only, Xavier wasn't like her and her brother. Once he sunk his claws into someone he didn't let go.  After a few months of blissful dating he changed. He was like Jekyll and Hyde. One way at the surface, but a monster hidden beneath the surface. It only came out behind closed doors. It was small at first. He had an anger problem. He would yell. But after a while... His yelling became bruises. Hidden well, behind make up. But it never fooled Bhelliom. He knew his sister too well. But she still tried to hide it. Because... Xavier loved her, right?

The domestic violence escalated.  Xavier became even more controlling and abusive.  Bhelliom started to push for her to break up with him.  Of course, she didn't listen at first. She was a love sick girl. Though, she had a good brother. He at least understood the danger and was formulating a plan.

In February of 2025, she finally reached her breaking point. After a very bad fight between her and Xavier she decided to end things. But he wouldn't take that answer. No. He'd never accept it. So, she turned to her brother. They made plans, and he  helped her find and rent a second apartment without Xavier's notice. Then, while he distracted Xavier she moved out.

Things settled down... a bit after moving out. Getting out while Xavier was distracted helped. But he didn't like it . Didn't like that she'd left. He called, texted, and tried to find her. But thankfully, Bhelliom helped. And then, the eventful day, a month later. A hiking accident. Xavier fell, and he was never going to hurt her again. Sapphire-Rose didn't question it.

The healing process has been... difficult. She hasn't been able to stand the touch of men since, and aside from her brother and a few others, she's been very closed off.
